Multi Lock Past President,
Jerold Ford

A few words
from the Past President ~
In
1930, my father, L. Roy Ford started the Ford Fence Co., a residential
and industrial fence company in Broad Ripple, Indiana.
The orginial office was located where College Ave. and Broad
Ripple Ave. come together . Then that was on the outskirts
of Indianapolis.
Today,
Broad Ripple is located in the metropolitan area of Indianapolis,
which we affectionately call Indy or Circle City.
Broad
Ripple is also known for its High School, which David Letterman
and I attended. Letterman was there about
10 years after I graduated in 1948. I also attended Purdue
University graduating straight into the Air Force as a radar
mechanic. In 1954, I went back to the fence company.
In 1940, my father
started manufacturing the woven wire partitions used to increase
security in the defense plants. In 1950, Ford Fence installed
the new fence that surrounds the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
"THE INDY or 500", 2013” will be the 97th running
of the 500 mile race. The 500 is the worlds
largest single-day spectator sporting event.
